Promoting your Twitter page will take everything you got so hang in there and build up your followers list. There are a few ways you can do this, the first way is to use this tweet directory Justtweetit.com , you can find people that interest you instead of just following people of no interest.
Another way to gain followers is to brows other tweet users profiles to see if there is anyone that you would like to follow, but if you're like me you will find this can very time consuming, and may take you longer then expected to gain followers.
Posting your Twitter link and embedding is another way for people to find your page, If you have multi sites like I have, then you should place your twitter link on all of your web pages, including your email signature, the reason for this is when ever you send an email your twitter link will also be sent as well, giving people access to your twitter page.
