Why short articles are better then long ones

There seems to be some concerns about writing long or short articles, which is more preferred? keep in mind the whole concept of blogging is to get your message out to your readers, it does not have to be a novel. Keeping it simple would benefit you in the long run because your readers will know if there is something they need to know they can count on your blog for a fast answer.

So why do I feel this way, it's just because I see so many bloggers using this method in hopes to catch readers interest. When people visit your blogs surely their visiting to read, but! Their also looking for a quick answer as well, so why the long article explaining how-to example: uploading a video to YouTube.

Don't get me wrong its fine an dandy to go on writing if what you're trying to explain needs that kind of content, but! Remember the average reader spends only a few seconds on a blog looking for information and if they can't find what their looking for they will just leave and may not come back.

I spend a lot of time visiting other blogs and notice the difference in length of some articles I read, I can see the overwhelming response to some blogs entry's and have notice readers are quicker to post a comment on a shorter article.

Let me give you an example, Have you ever wanted to view a video on YouTube, and the creator of those videos just talks for about 10-minutes? What would be your reactions? Be honest, I can tell you mine, I would probably just leave the page and look for a quicker answer some were else, same concept with blogging.

So what is a reasonable amount of content for your blog, I would say anywhere between 250 to 500 words and should only exceed this amount if that article is in need of more..

Creating quality short articles is just as effected as long articles, It might even help you produce even more blog post and give you extra time for other projects that you might be considering.
