Backing up your blogs and content

This next blog post is a critical one because I cannot stress enough, about how important it is to back up your blog post. Lets face it, you spend hours after hours blogging to have it all wiped out over night. If you are like me then you know your work is always at risk no matter what server or service you're using. No matter what they tell you.

You should always get into a habit of backing up your bogs, daily or at least ounce a week. If you’re using Blogger, then you already know they give you the option to back up your blog post if needed.

Take advantage by doing so, to have a peace of mind knowing your hard work is safe. Even if you have to copy each and every post and save it in your email, I would strongly recommend you doing so, because your hard work and long hours would be really hard to replace if something happen to the hosting service, you host your blogs on.

Let me tell you why this is so important, I have use a number of hosting services that claim to back up your files on a daily bases, well to my surprise!, this is just something most, not all, hosting services tell all their customers just to keep you happy. (Example) of how some hosting services run their backups, lets just say you have your blogs, uploaded on a server, not necessarily Blogger, what most services do, is run a routine backup, a few times a week.

If you do a lot of editing like I do, then your always editing your blogs almost daily, follow me? So if the server runs a routine backup lets just say, three days ago, and the last time they ran a backup was on a Monday and you have been editing non stop, about three or four days after that last backup and something happens to your account maybe a outage, or even someone hacking that account, the server will only be able to restore some of your files, not all from the last backup that past Monday. So everything after that last backup would be lost and cannot be recovered.
