Your keywords doesn't have to be one word. Key phrases made up of two or more words are actually better then single keywords because they usually offer better cost -per -click, and lower search engines competition then individual keywords.
Think of it this way, if you were searching for "Apples" you would search for keywords "growing apples" versus just "apples" because the keywords phrase "growing apples" would turn out more relevant information then just "apples".
Here is a little trick I use for my YouTube videos, using key tags to help people find my videos even faster. I often use YouTube search to find key-tags, Example, If I create a video about lets say cell phones, I would begin to type in the YouTube search box "cell phones" to see what keywords people are searching for cell phones.
I would them gather that list of keywords that represents my video and add those keywords into my tag field that way when people search for those words and phrases my videos have a better chance to be found. You can use this same method for your blogs or websites.
