Why is it important to have your own custom domain?

I often get ask this question a lot, and I wanted to give my toughs on why you should have your own custom domain for your blog. Most blogging services such as Blogger.com, and Wordpress, will often provide a sub domain for there users.

This sub domain is provided by the host to identify, each user, for that service. I don't know how serious you are about blogging, but! If your one of those that really enjoy what you do, and would like to see your self advance, and maybe even earn revenue for your blogs, then you might consider getting your very own Domain.com, for your site. Domain names give you that unique style, for any website and separates you from all the rest.

Why is so critical to own a custom domain? well simple, owning your own domain will also give you rights to what ever contents are added to your blog, or website, provided the contents are yours, and you hold all copyright to them.

Here's a primary example, of a sud domains, and a custom domains. Lets just say you have a sub domain called, ( Making money online) if you were hosting that domain let's say on blogger.com, your domain would look something like this, http://www.makingmoneyonline/blogger.com compared to this, http://www.makingmoney.com, it's a huge difference when people are trying to type in your domain, to find your blog, or website.

Domain names are very inexpensive, and can be purchased, from a good domain hosting services, such as Godaddy.com were you can get your domains for a full year, or even two years, for about $10.00 a year. I use Godaddy for most of my domain hosting, and never once, had any trouble with there service. This service is highly recommended.

Google domains, is another good service, and is very affordable, and reliable.
With Google domains you have an advantage just because Google also own Blogger, so if you have a blogger account it's very simple, to integrate, your domain with your blog.
